Krafty Girls Challenge#1

If you came from Karen's blog, you are on the right track.  If you would like to start from the beginning please head over to Krafty Girls HERE. Please keep reading for a chance to win some candy:)

I'm SUPER excited for our launch today!! This is our first Krafty Girls challenge.  Our first challenge is called Home Sweet Home.  It can be any type of paper project that is based on a place where you are from, lived in once, or just has any special meaning to you. Our challenges are pretty open to your own interpretation, we just want you to have fun!

I chose New York City.  I am not from NYC, but it would be so cool if I was!  I was actually born in Mexico and my husband is from Brooklyn.  He tells me these stories about going into the city all the time and it sounds fascinating to me.  Ever since I was very young I was intrigued by New York, maybe because I watched I Love Lucy every day:)  It looks like such a fun place to live!

I am linking up with: Sentimental Sundays : Shaped cards

Here is my card:
I used my newest cart, Victorian Romance, for the card base.  This heart shape is gorgeous!! Lots of cute cuts on this cart. Lady Liberty is from Stand and Deliver as well as the fireworks.  The skyline is from Plantin Schoolbook.  The water was embossed with the Woodgrain folder from Tim Holtz.  I wasn't sure how that would turn out, but it actually does look like water.

I added pop dots to give the skyline, Statue of Liberty and fireworks for some dimension.

I loved how it turned out!

In honor of our launch we are having a blog hop.  I am giving away some candy:

You have two ways to win this cartridge:

My Favorite Things

Robin of My Pink Stamper is holding a challenge where you can make a project incorporating something that is your favorite.  This may be your favorite style, technique, cart, colors...anything that is your favorite.  So I put together everything I loved about crafting and made my card.

I am entering this card into You Had Me At Craft's Link Party.

Sooo what do you get when you mix craft card stock, SU! supplies, a Gypsy, faux stitching, twine, cute sentiments, a PKS face and embossing??

This cutie right here:

I added glossy accents to the eyes and lips.  The cheeks are created using chalks and a white gel pen.

My biggest obsession is my Gypsy.  This sentiment explains exactly how I feel! I really don't know what I would do without my Gypsy!

This is now my all time favorite card! I hope you guys enjoy it!

I loved this card so much that I even made a video!

Recipe:

Plantin SchoolBook: Heart- cut at 5.20" in height welded together for the base.  I also cut a separate layer at the same measurement for the front of the card so that it covers the fold of the card.  The pink layer was cut at 4.72" in height.
Cricut Everyday: Gypsy at 1.82"
Twinery: Pink Sorbet twine
Provo Craft: Cuttle Bug Polka Dot folder
PKS: Face from the Princess 1 1/8ths set
My Creative Time: Sentiment- My Favorite Sayings
SU!: Chalks, Crumb Cake card stock, black embossing powder, embossing buddy
Recollections: Light pink paper
