Dad's Birthday Card

School is back in session for us here in AZ and boy am I tired!!  I was able to find some time to make this card for my dad's birthday.

My dad loves animals and spends lots of time watching the Discovery Channel AND my parents just got a puppy and they named him Bruce, so this card with Bruce from Finding Nemo was perfect for him!!

Bruce seems very happy about my dad's birthday.

I love the his smile here!  I embossed the sentiment with SU! embossing powder.  The stamp is from Pink By Design and it says "Smile, it's your birthday." It goes perfectly with Bruce's expression!!

  I tried to make this card as masculine as I could.  I even resisted and didn't put any twine bows on it, even though I REALLY wanted to!

I added faux stitching all around the card and dry embossed the background of the card with a polka dot folder after I heat embossed the sentiment.  I pop dotted Bruce to give the card some dimension.

Squirt's Birthday Card-My Pink Stamper DT Call

Finding Nemo is one of my all time favorite movies! I'm a Hello Kitty/Disney fanatic:)

This image was calling my name! 

After making this card I realized that it followed the guidelines of the My Pink Stamper DT challenge!
I don't know if I stand a chance with all those talented people who are applying but it would be a huge honor to be chosen!!

The challenge is to use the colors organge, green, brown, turquoise and a color of your choice.  I have the four basic colors there and I'm thinking white would be my extra color.  You can also enter this challenge here!

I welded two fish bowl shadows to create this card base.  Squirt is cut at 2.5 inches.  

I am so thrilled to have twine now! I don't know if it's because blue is my favorite color or what, but I love this color. It's called Caribbean.  I embossed the sentiment in white.

I'm not sure if turtles belong in a fish bowl... but he looks cute in there!

WALL-E Birthday

I could not sleep, usually happens when I'm on vacation, so I made good use of it and got started on my next card...I got a bit carried away and just kept working until I finished.

A long time ago I saw a really cool card base created on My Creative Time by Emma Aguilar.  Here is her video.  Take a look,  I got lots of good ideas from it.  

I had been dying to make a card base like hers.  As you can see, it worked!  It was lots of work though because my Gypsy is not cutting right so I had to do extra trimming to fix it.  

For the longest time I had wanted to use this WALL-E image, but couldn't think of what to do with him.  Well...my stamp set from Pink By Design arrived and on it I saw this sentiment that said "Today, i eat cake" It was perfect!  

The idea was that since WALL-E is a robot, he doesn't get to eat anything tasty like this.  But today he is getting his chance:) Yay for him! I can almost imagine his little robot voice saying "yum, yum."
