Hello! Welcome back to another
Birthday Sundaes Challenge! This weeks challenge is to make an easel card with a birthday theme. For years I had seen easel cards and I always admired them. I kept telling myself to just try to make one, but I never did it because they looked really complicated to make. Well, I sat down this week and checked out the links that Kristie provided for us. I was shocked at how easy it was to make an easel card! I used this tutorial here:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/easelcard/It was super easy to follow and had very clear directions.
I'm so happy that I now know how to make these! Thanks Kristie!
Here is my card:
I will admit that I am not too great with measurements. That is why I use my Gypsy for everything! I cut the layer that folds with my trimmer and then I used my Gypsy to make the rest of the card. All I had to do was make a 4 1/2" square in my Gypsy and then I was free to design everything that went in it just like normal. My squirrel is from Birthday Bash. The shape behind the squirrel is from Elegant Edges. If you don't own this cart, you need to get it.
The sentiment is from Close To My Heart. It came with my Art Philosophy cartridge package. This is my first time using CTMH and I am so impressed. The image was so clean and easy to emboss! It looks beautiful in person. I will have to purchase more of their sets.
The papers, embossing folder, embossing powder and ribbon are from SU!
I also had to use my Peachy Keen faces for his face. The whole face didn't fit because he is cut pretty small (2 inches) so I masked the eyes so that I could just get his nose and mouth.
