I have been MIA for a little while, things have gotten so busy at work, but we are nearing the end of the year and I will have way more time to craft again soon! I also recently broke my foot, and that has made everything so much more difficult, including getting into my craft room :(

I was so excited about this challenge because I got a chance to incorporate some PKS faces!  The challenge this time around at Krafty Girls is to make a project that incorporates a face.

We are celebrating Nurse's Day so I decided to make our school nurse a card and use my all time favorite face for it from the Princess Assortment.

I love this card!  The Crocs are so fun :) The cuts for the nurse are from Once Upon a Princess, the nurse gear is all from Everyday Paper Dolls.  The ice was hand made. I applied glossy accents to a sheet of blue paper and cut little squares out of it once it had dried.  The "ice" was put in a plastic bag and tied with twine to create the ice pack.  The sentiment was handwritten using my Ranger Perfect Medium Pen.  I love these pens!

Birthday Sundaes #37

It's time for another Birthday Sundaes challenge! We have an easy challenge for you. It is an anything goes birthday card!

The prize this week is a the "Another Year" stamp set from our sponsor Tradefish Designs.  

For my card I used Once Upon a Princess for the unicorn.  The card base shape is from Lacy Labels.  The original shape was a little too thin, so I stretched it out with my Gypsy and then copied and welded it to create the base. 

I have a birthday party coming up and I thought, what's better than a girly unicorn for a little girl?

I masked a PKS face to give my unicorn an eye.

I popped her up with pop dots, added some twine, stitching, and my new favorite: liquid pearls:)

Little Mermaid

I had a chance to craft tonight and I played along with the challenge at My Creative Time.  The Throwback Thursday challenge is to use a kid friendly cart to make a card with a kid theme.  I used three of my favorite child friendly carts for this one.  Once Upon a Princess, Twinkle Toes, and Create a Critter.  I have been wanting to make the mermaid on the Princess cart for a long time and this was the perfect opportunity to use her.  

The base of my card was made from Twinkle Toes.  I used the heart shape and welded it to make the base.

I saw this seahorse in Create a Critter and thought it would make a perfect friend to this little mermaid. I used the eye from a PKS face for her eye.

The craft cardstock was embossed using the Perfect Polka-dots embossing folder and I heat embossed the sentiment.  This cute sentiment came from the "My Favorite Sayings" set from MCT. 

I also added a tiny pearl necklace using liquid pearls.  That was really tricky to do because the beads had to be really small.  

Her cute face is from the Princess Face Assortment from PKS.  I added lots of dimension and some inking around the scalloped heart.  I did this with a Q-tip and a regular ink pad.  I tried to do this with a sponge at first, but I couldn't get into the small areas.  It was easy to get to them with the Q-tip.

I've always wanted to learn how to sew.  I will live vicariously through my crafts :)

I added stitching all around, even on the sewing machine! I really love adding stitching to a card.  It adds so much to it!

California Dreams

First I would like to thank Amy from Amy's Crafting Space for giving me the Butterfly Award! If you have not been to her blog, you must :) She is awesomely talented! Thank you Amy!!

I had this card in mind for about a week now and finally had some time to sit down and make it.  Can I just say that I LOVE California! I only lived there for a couple of years, but they were some of my happiest years of my childhood.  The cool, clean air (we lived in the wine country), the greeness, the beach, and Disneyland! We never went to Disneyland while we lived there.  We were living in AZ when my parents decided to take us.  It was the best vacation ever! My third trip to Disneyland was when I turned 15.  My parents let me decide between a huge party or a family vacation. Not a hard decision to make :)

So here is my dream...this is my future family on vacation. 

I really do wish I was there!!

I used my PKS faces for the little boy and girl, and part of a face for the mom.

I loved all the layers in this card.  The sentiment was computer generated and punched out with a SU! punch.

Birthday Sundaes Blog Hop and Giveaway!

This blog hop is all about cakes and cupcakes! My inspiration for this card came from a project a did a couple of weeks ago.  I had just received Sweet Tooth Boxes and Flower Shop.  Two carts I was really excited about! I knew I wanted to make a rose and a cake box.  So I got to work right away and here is the result:

This rose took me a while to figure out how to make.  It started out as white cardstock.  I love how it turned out!  It looks way better in person but you can see the details pretty well here.

So when it came time to make my cake/cupcake birthday card I thought about how this cake would look like if it was whole.  I instantly reached for Once Upon a Princess because I remembered that it has a beautiful cake and it used similar colors.  Here is my card:

I added some rhinestones, stitching, and twine for extra detail. 

I heat embossed the sentiment and then ran it through my Big Shot using the Polka Dot folder. I then added some pop dots to the cake to give it some dimension.

I was very happy with the final result!

Fancy Dress

Another late night:) I made this card tonight to enter into the Getting Cricky Fashion-ista Challenge and Scrapbookaholicbyabby Challenge#9- Use bling.

I think it's no secret that I'm a huge Hello Kitty fan! I just had to use her for this fashion challenge!

Photographing this card was so a bit tricky because of the colors.  I hope you can see the details in this lighting!

So...Hello Kitty went shopping and fell in love with a fancy new dress:

The top of the dress is shimmery and the skirt has some glittery dots on it.  I added some crystals to give it a bit of a sparkle.  It's hard to see it, but I added some glossy accents to the side of the heart and the little circles that lead to the thought bubble. 

I added some stitching to the borders of the card, embossed the pink background with a large dot folder, and popped everything up with pop dots.  Here is a side view.

Star Card

I made a new card today for the Stars and Stripes challenge over at Birthday Sundaes.  I used the Once Upon a Princess cart for the whole card! I don't think I've ever done that.  I hope you like it!

I added some pink chalk for her cheeks.

I used some pop-dots to give the card some dimension.  You can see it better from this angle.
