Krafty Girls Challenge #4

Easter is quickly approaching and that put us in the Eastery mood over at Krafty Girls

The challenge this week is to create a project with an Easter theme or element.  So if it has a bunny, chick, egg or any other Easter image please link it up with us :)

Here is my card:

The inspiration for my card came from the Easter 2010 cartridge.  This cart includes an image of some chocolate bunnies that are so sweet :)  Well, I don't have this cartridge and it's a fortune on Ebay.  So I found a bunny that looked some what like the image form the cart and manipulated it to make it resemble the bunny I saw. This image is from Gypsy Wanderings.  It comes with a flourish in the center and it is attached to the outer shape, so I had to grab a shape and use it to cover the flourish.  The eye was made with a circle punch.  The bite on his ear was created with a scalloped circle from the Art Philosophy cartridge.  The card base is also from the Art Philosophy cart.

I hope you feel inspired to play along!  Check out the rest of the DT for more inspiration!

Snow Globe

I have been wanting to use the snow globe from Doodle Charms for a while but I don't have this cartridge.  I went into my Gypsy and designed this snow globe from three circles, two rectangles and a trapezoid.  It took a while, but I think it ended up looking a lot like the real cut :)

I have a drawing of a snow globe in my classroom that inspired this card.  It is so cute, I wish I could find a real snow globe like it to add to my collection.

Here is a picture of my card.

I am loving the way that it turned out!  I added some glossy accents all around the globe to make it look like glass.  I also spritzed the snow with Perfect Pearls for a shimmery look.  Wish it would show up in pictures!  For extra sparkle, I added a rhinestone to her bow.

Recipe:
Face: Peachy Keen Critter Faces- Small Assortment
Snow Globe: Gypsy Wanderings- I welded all the shapes together to make this card base.
Tree: Winter Woodland
Penguin: Simply Charmed
Twine: Twinery

Summer Fun!

Today Hello Kitty made a huge sandcastle:)

This is a shaped card, the castle was from Create a Critter. I took two Castle shadows and welded them together to make the base of the card.

Hello Kitty is from the Hello Kitty Font cart and the Star Fish is from Pack Your Bags.  The handle and the little shovel is from the Simply Charmed cart and the bottom of the bucket is from Gypsy Wanderings.

I'm entering this card into the Bitten By the Bug  Star Fish Challenge, the Sunny Days challenge at My Craft Spotcookingwithcricut challenge-41 - Anything goes and The Summer Time Fun challenge at gettingcricky.com.

Here she is wearing her little polka dot bathing suit!

I love how the little shovel looks.  I was so happy it was on a cartridge!

Owl Invitation

I made this card specifically for the cricut360 challenge.  The challenge is to use any cut on any cartridge to make an invitation.  They have pretty awesome design team members, you should check them out!

For this invitation I used a few cartridges to create the extra elements my little owl needed for her BBQ.  The chef hat is from the Winnie The Pooh cart.  I stretched it with my Gypsy and welded the word "cook" into it from the Martha Stewart Birthday Cake Art cart.

I made the spatula and the apron with my Gyspy by welding several shapes from the Gyspy Wanderings cart.

It turned out super cute!  Here are some pictures:

Carts:
Owl: Create a Critter (One of my all time faves!)
Apron and Spatula: Gypsy Wanderings

Paper:
Black, white, craft, dark brown: Recollections
Blue: Tim Holtz; Broken China
Light blue: Recollections
