Cars Cake

Last year I enrolled in a cake decorating course at Hobby Lobby and I am so glad I did.  I learned so much.  Someday I will have to post some pictures of my favorite cakes that I made.

This cake was made for a family friend.  The little boy loves the Cars movies and Wilton had a pan just for this occasion! They also wanted some chocolate cupcakes.

This turned out to be an adventure! My dog ended up eating one of my chocolate cupcakes :( We were scared for a while, but after calling the vet, we felt ok.  Turns out chocolate cake mix doesn't have that much chocolate in it? Who would have known?  And...my first batch burnt in the oven! Yikes! But it turned out fine in the end.

The little boy loved his cake and cupcakes.  The kids were fighting over who got to eat his face and they really wanted his teeth! LOL! How funny is that??

If you try to make this cake DO NOT make it in chocolate.  It was so hard to see the lines on the cake and I had to improvise a whole lot when filling him in.  He turned out cute!

You know how I love challenges!! Thanks to Amy at lovetocrop and Decorate to Celebrate I was able to enter my cake and cupcakes into a challenge!  The theme is for an adult birthday, but they also welcome all types of celebration creations for their challenges! How cool is that?  Check them out at http://decoratetocelebrate.blogspot.com/

Here are some pictures-

I bought this cupcake caddy last year because I was making tons of cup cakes and always had a hard time transporting them.  It carries 36 cupcakes in three separate levels. It totally came in handy today!

Also found these little toppers at Party City to finish up the cupcakes.

Thank you for visiting!

  11. You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and extremely broad for me. I’m looking forward to your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
